| How is VSK-USA different from other clubs? |
|
Here at VSK-USA, we try to make sure everyone has fun. There are several things we do to try to accomplish that goal. 1.Encourage all of our members to learn the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing. This set of rules has been adopted world wide as the standard of conduct for racing sailors. You don't have to know every letter of the rulebook, but you must be willing to learn and adhere to those rules. 2.Get to know our members. As part of the membership process, potential new members are asked to introduce themselves to the club in the forum. Tell us a little about yourself, how long you've been a virtual skipper and what, if any, real-life sailing you do. 3.Help our members improve their skills. Another part of the membership process is to race in our "Orientation Series". The goal of this series is to determine the sailing skills and personality of new members on the water. This helps us place a new member in a division that will be challenging but not overwhelming.
